Training and assessment show what your people can do in the simulator. Rig Cold Eye™ shows how emergency command actually runs on your asset. An independent Poseidon Training observer watches a live drill in your Emergency Command Centre and reviews it against a structured standard, twice a year.

• Command functions: assuming command and setting initial priorities; situation assessment and the plan; communicating; delegating and managing the team; and managing self and the team under pressure.
• Time Out quality: whether a Time Out was called at the right point, followed the three-step structure, confirmed genuine understanding and actually changed something.
• The human performance toolkit: six tools drawn from human performance programmes in the nuclear and process-safety industries. They are questioning attitude, self-checking, procedure use, independent checking of critical decisions, handover, and readiness for post-incident review.

An overall rating, the observer's narrative, and a list of gaps with an owner, a target close date and a status for each, so every finding is followed up. The individual review also shows the trend since the previous observation.
