POSEIDON EMERGENCY COMMAND AND CONTROL
Emergency management training, simulator assessment and drill observation for the people who command, control and support the response to a major emergency.

Poseidon Emergency Command and Control is built on one principle: build strong fundamentals, find each person's gaps, target them, then test performance under realistic pressure. Every programme runs on the Poseidon Emergency Simulator, face to face or remotely, to the same standard.
It is organised in two matching families. Rig Command and Control™ is for offshore installations, mobile offshore units and drilling rigs. Plant Command and Control™ is for onshore assets: chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, gas processing and gas bottling plants, terminals, storage depots, power stations and industrial estates.

Rig Command and Control™.
Offshore. For the Emergency Management Team, the Control Room Operator and the Offshore Installation Manager.
Plant Command and Control™.
Onshore. For the Incident Management Team, the Control Room Operator and the Plant Manager/Incident Commander.

The employer's part
Rig Watch, Plant Watch, Rig Command and Plant Command start in the workplace. The employer supervises the candidate's preparation and confirms their readiness through a Duty Holder Declaration before they come to the simulator. The simulator then tests how that readiness performs under pressure.

No. They are Poseidon Training in-house programmes. They are not OPITO products, they are not OPITO-approved and they carry no external accreditation. If your employer or client requires a specific accredited course, check with them first.
Yes. Every programme can be delivered at the Poseidon Training Centre, at your site or on your asset, or remotely through the Poseidon Emergency Simulator.
A formal declaration by the employer that the candidate has completed supervised preparation in the workplace and meets the workplace criteria. It is signed by the Duty Holder or an authorised representative, reaches Poseidon Training at least five working days before the assessment, and is countersigned by Poseidon Training.
Three years. Sentinel certificates are renewed by repeating the course, and Watch and Command certificates by re-assessment in the simulator, with no new Duty Holder Declaration.
